Ready for Friday night lights, Bearcat fans filled the stadium as Antlers hosted the Talihina Golden Tigers, September 11, in their first home game of the 2015 season.
The score was 28-12 with 11:48 left in the game. The Tigers immediately came back with an amazing 64-yard run by their #6 and a two-point QB run, making the tally 28-20. Again, Antlers couldn't make headway on their possession and Talihina ran up three first-downs getting the ball to the 28 yard line. The Bearcat defense held strong, forcing a third-and-seventeen situation. The ball was heading into the hands of the Talihina receiver when Kyler Gee snatched it out of the air and ran back an incredible 87 yards, scoring for the Bearcats! Pense didn't make his kick, but the Bearcats led 34-20 with 7:47 left in the game.
Two more Bearcat interceptions, one by #7 Nick Evans and one by #15 Nate Smith frustrated any more Tiger attempts to score. Final score 34-20, Bearcats, making this the first time Antlers had won out over Talihina since 2007.
Leading defenders were Nick Evans (#7) with 13 tackles, Allen Rossen (#51) with 11 and Tucker Parrington (#56) with 10. Parrington, along with Wyatt Clark (#24) were responsible for 3 QB sacks. Leading offense players were Kyler Gee (#5) with 49 yards rushing, 59 yards receiving plus the 87 yard interception run; Raven Bowden (#8) with 74 yards receiving; and Nick Evans (#7) with 28 yards rushing. QB Chris Kibby completed 10 passes for 143 yards.
