Heaven was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents: Wilson & Delores Taylor; paternal great-grandparents: Myrtle & Don Hunter.

Evelyn Leola Streun

Evelyn Leola Streun was born February 6, 1944 in Norman to R.E. and Dovie (Logan) Gay. She passed from this life on August 6, 2012 in Antlers at the age of 68. Evelyn married Ronnie Streun on September 8, 1962 in Norman. She lived in Antlers for the last 35 years. Evelyn had had many hobbies and interests such as gardening, flowers, cooking, canning, watching bull riding & America's Got Talent. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family & friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents: R.E.

Gary Lee Thompson

Gary Lee Thompson was born June 12, 1941 in Marion, IN., to Robert M. and Geneva J. (Samples) Thompson. He passed from this life August 16, 2012 at home in Snow at the age of 71. Gary raised and traded cattle, trained horses, but his passion was calf roping. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Gary later married Shirley Armstrong November 10, 2004 in DeQueen, AR. Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Robert M. Thompson and Geneva J.

Larry David Heath

Larry David Heath was born on February 5, 1948, in Greenville, TX. He passed from this life on August 10, 2012 in Tuskahoma at the age of 64. SSgt. Larry D. Heath proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 a the Tuskahoma Baptist Church in Tuskahoma.

Citizens will take to the poles again on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 to decide who will get the job of Pushmataha County Sheriff and narrow down the candidates to the final two for the position of United States Representative for District 2.

On the ballet for Pushmataha County Sheriff, you will decide between John Arthur and Terry Duncan.

Worst West Nile Virus season in OK history expected

As summer draws closer to it's end, school begins and the weather starts to show hints of changing, one wouldn't expect to hear that three lives have been claimed in Oklahoma after being infected with the West Nile Virus.

Last week the Oklahoma State Department of Health reported that the number of lives claimed had climbed to 3 as the WNV season begins. All three victims are reported to have been over the age of 75.

K9 finds meth during stop

A felony warrant was issued for an Antlers man after deputies found methamphetamine in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Aug. 10.

According to information filed in district court, Rickey White, Jr., Antlers, was pulled over by Pushmataha County deputies at approximately 11:26 p.m., a half mile south of the intersection of Hwy. 3 and Belzoni Road, west of Rattan.

Calvin Odell McKerley

Calvin Odell McKerley was born on December 25, 1924, in Miller. Calvin Odell McKerley, known by most as “Mac” or “C.O.,” had his family convinced that heaven was in the foothills of the Kiamichi Mountains in Southeast Oklahoma and the waters of the Blue Hole on Davenport Creek had healing powers. On July 24, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, he passed from this earth at the age of 87. Selfless and dedicated to his family, he worked hard all of his life to see that they were taken care of.

Man committed to mental facility in Pushmataha Co. murder case

A gruesome murder case came to an end on Wednesday morning, after the man accused of murdering an elderly man with a hatchet was sentenced. Robert Parsons was led from the courthouse after being found to still be a a danger to the public, peace and or safety of others due to treatment noncompliance.
